Via ferrata in Saillon

Inaugurated around ten years after the footbridge at Farinet, the via Farinetta is the first via ferrata in the Valais to link the plain and the mountains. This well-equipped route offers 3 to 4 hours of fun.

Equipped with a helmet and harness, set off on the first lowland via ferrata in the Valais. The via Farinetta guides you up the vertical walls of the Salentse gorges. The route is divided into 3 sections of increasing difficulty. You can leave the via ferrata after each section, the last being reserved for experienced climbers.

An adventure in 3 parts

From Place Farinet, the approach walk takes around twenty minutes. After the Via Ferrata, it’s another 45-minute to 1-hour walk back to Place Farinet.

Parking your vehicle

Park your vehicle in one of the free car parks:

The Salentze car park is the closest to the start of the Via Ferrata, but spaces are limited. We advise you to park at the Place Farinet on the way back.

Getting here by public transport

Take the 311 bus from Martigny CFF, Riddes CFF or Sion CFF stations to the Saillon St-Laurent stop. Click here for timetables.
