Snowshoeing the Loutze mountain pasture

Put on your snowshoes and opt for a winter hike to the Loutze mountain pasture in the commune of Chamoson, near Saillon.

Just 20 minutes from Saillon, a one-hour snowshoe trail takes you to the Loutze mountain pasture above Les Mayens de Chamoson. Two specially signposted snowshoe trails take you through the forest to the famous Loutze refreshment bar.

Parking nearby

Take the ascent to Ovronnaz located in the centre of the village of Leytron. It’s a 20-minute drive to the Tourbillon/Centre Nordique car park at the top of the Ovronnaz resort.

Getting here by public transport

From Saillon, take the 311 bus to Sion and get off at Leytron, ancienne poste. Then take the 312 bus to Ovronnaz and get off at the “Ovronnaz, Chevalley” stop. From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the Tourbillon car park, where the hike begins.
