Inaugurated in 2001, the Farinet suspension footbridge – 136 metres high and 92 metres long – spans the Salentze gorge. Below, an imposing panorama stretches out to include the Rhone plain and the Saillon vineyards. It’s also possible to make out climbers heading up the gorge on the Via Farinetta.
Hans Erni’s Dove of Peace watches over hikers from the adjacent cliff face. The footbridge marks the culmination of several paths, which start at the heart of Saillon village and follow the stained glass trail with works inspired by the story of Farinet.
